April has been a busy month for the Waterfront Commission as we meet to review the application of Kettle Point Apartments, LLC to amend previously approved plans for a total of twelve town homes in Buildings 6 and 7.  This is the third and final phase of construction of 228 rental units at Kettle Point Apartments, as approved by the East Providence Waterfront Commission in 2015 and amended in 2017 and 2019.  The applicant proposed to increase the number of approved units from four per building to six.  The overall number of units will not increase as the East Providence Waterfront Commission previously approved a related decrease in the number of units in Building 5 (now under construction).

On April 9, 2020, the East Providence Waterfront Commission’s Design Review Committee voted 5-0 to send a positive advisory opinion to the full Waterfront Commission and on April 16, 2020 the full Waterfront Commission voted unanimously to approve the application, which is subject to review and approval of the landscape plan by staff and consultant landscape architect.
